| Professor Zhu’s major contributions in the area of geotechnical engineering and geomechanics include the development and application of boundary elements and backwards analysis, physical model tests, disaster reduction methods and constitutive modeling of rock and soil. Professor Zhu is one of the pioneers of the Digital Underground Space Engineering (DUSE) concept that integrates geostructural models, geometrical models, physical models and material models in a unified and consistent system. During his stay in Germany, he will work on modelling of Hydraulic Fracture. |
